Teahupoo is by far the scariest reef break out there. If the wave doesn`t kill you, the reefs at the bottom well.

When i surf, i only surf places that have a good 10 feet before i hit bottom, I have friends who surf places where its like a foot or two, and they come to school with their backs cut up by reef.

For the guy 2 below me... First of all, read my post properly, i said i surf places with 10 feet before the bottom...nothin about reef as you can see.

I said my friends surf places that has 2 feet above the reef.

and still, there are places that do that....barbados is a Coral Island...which has reef all around the island. So no matter where you catch a wave, even if its 50 feet out, if you ride it long enough you will get to water that is shallow enough to hit reef.Like in Barbados there is....West Coast at Basheba, or the south coast Parlors, Fraits and Bradons Beach or Surfers point.

Dont try and think you know all about surfing everywhere in the world just cuz you`ve been surfin for a while.

wtf?

i`ve been surfing since 1991. i know of no reef break that breaks on 10 feet of water. typically the depth is half that. even if such a place exists, it would take a 20 foot wave to break on water depth of 10 feet.
