I was taking the stairs this week like I often do, when I got near the first floor a few girls were walking up. One of the girls says, "Ugh, I hate the stairs." Other girl says, "Yeah, why are we taking the stairs anyway." Third girl, " Are you fucking serious its one fucking floor." I got a good laugh out of that.

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs. There would never be an escalator temporarily out of order sign, only an escalator temporarily stairs. Sorry for the convenience.

^^ actually, at the university im from the escalator actually broke once, like the top was all fucked up, if u were to walk it like the stairs, ur feet would get caught and eventually squished to human flesh jam.......mmmmmmm jam....

@pyranos, You might have not noticed this fact of life, but a lot of people talk just for the sake of talking. They may not necessarily feel that strongly about what they`ve just said (or at all for that matter), but these people just have a compulsive need to say something no matter how pointless it is.

Most places I have been with escalators like malls don`t have stairs right next to them. Airports do, but thats about it.

erm, escalators CAN break and can be fatally dangerous too. Have you seen the machinery under an escalator? Neither have I, but a few years ago a woman in Italy did. She was grinded. That`s an awful way to go.

^^Actually it`s illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey. I now have lived other places, and I feel so damn lazy having someone pump my gas for me, but it`s nice when it`s 0 degrees and snowing to not have to get out of the car.
