A South Dakota man has been fined and sentenced to probation for sending a letter containing animal feces to a local government office.
Jeffrey Dezeeuw pleaded guilty in a Sioux Falls federal court to one count of mailing injurious articles.
The 45-year-old man smeared excrement on a traffic citation, a note and cash before sending it to the Minnehaha County Cerk of Courts last July.
Dezeeuw faces three years of probation and a $500 fine.
It was not clear what kind of animal feces was used.
