Manhunter - Phonecall

Brian Cox`s Dr. Hannibal Lecktor, player. Hopkins is a great actor, but I think this original Lecktor is far scarier. This film also gave us the blueprint for one CSI Gill Grissom in Will Peterson. I would have uploaded the "toilet paper" scene but I can`t find it.

I`m interested in seeing his portrayal of Hannibal Lector and i like the way he actually takes the phone apart here whereas in Red Dragon he simple hangs up and somehow manages to dial the number.

But i was wondering is this one still worth watching if i have seen Red Dragon? I`ve read all the books and from what i hear Red Dragon is a lot closer to the book than it`s 1986 counterpart.

The actors name is Brian Cox. He`s been in all of the Jason Bourne films, Troy, The Ring, X-Men, Zodiac, Deadwood, Braveheart, etc. Those are the films I remember.
Holy crap, I just Googled him, he`s been acting in films since 1965.

I prefer Manhunter to Red Dragon.
Petersen made a much better Graham than Norton - thats just me.
I loved Cox`s portrayal though Silence of the Lambs will always be a masterpiece and Hopkins was perfect.

tbh I`m not the biggest fan of the books or Hariss`s writing.
They`re *good* books in a sense but I felt sort of gyped when I finished the series - I thought they would`ve been like 100x better. A lot like how I felt reading Godfather for the first time. I finished the book and went "OH."
