BBC Horizon - An Experiment to Save the ...

Part 2
In March 2002, the scientific world was rocked by some astonishing news: a distinguished US government scientist claimed he had made nuclear fusion out of sound waves in his laboratory.

Rusi Taleyarkhan`s breakthrough was such important news because nuclear fusion is one of the most difficult scientific processes, and also one of the most coveted. It could solve all of our energy problems for ever. In principle, sufficient fuel exists on earth to provide clean, pollution-free energy for billions of people for millions of years.

Usually the "related media" bar will have the other part in there somewhere.

Poor Rusi, I would annihilate any mofo that disputed data from my life`s work, regardless of its validity -- I want the recognition purely for the sake of hard work alone.

The scientific community be motherfooking fickle.

@Praetorian
THE HYDROGEN BOMB
We already have the weapon. The point is the fusion is carried out at standard conditions. That`s what makes it cold.

@imadazol
if you think it`s going to be boring.. the solution is simple:
Don`t click on it and don`t watch it.
Or click on it an vote it down.

I saw this about a year or so ago and it really made me start to think about whether nuclear fusion could take place in non-conventional means. If you look at the spiked video about the mantis-shrimp, it too is able to produce luminesence via cavation in water when it`s claw hammer hit something. If a mere shrimp can produce those kinds of results in salt water, why can`t we find a mechanical method of cavation and combine it with the sono-luminesence meathod to hopefully overcome the temperature and pressure thresholds the thwart nuclear fusion. And then I saw a video about a man who had invented a water-hammer heat engine. He claimed it was more than 100% efficient, even though he wasn`t sure how. His machine causes water to cavatate inside a high speed rotating cylinder. I wonder what would happen if you were to replace the water in the water-hammer engine with deutronium?

This is cavitation, not nuclear fusion.
