Teen Dies After Police Use Taser on Him

Police in Bay City, Michigan say a 15-year-old boy has died after being tasered by officers who were trying to break up a fight. Police say officers tasered him, and his reaction led them to immediately call for emergency medical help. He was pronounced dead at Bay Regional Medical Center.

The thing is, the aunt even admits that the boy swang a punch at the police. He may have been only 15 but, police are only human too, he was probably protecting himself. Think about it, if you were a police person, they are trained in how to use weapons and only use if they have to (true, there are good and bad cops)but more then likely he was just trying to protect himself as he probably felt threatened.... He could have used his gun...

so the way cops restrain a 15 year old male is by tasering him. not by simple handcuffs.

i dunno about that^^ it wouldnt be very hard for a grown man to fight a fifteen year old, the tazer sounds kinda excessive.

190 lb 5`11 grown man

vs.

120 lb 5`3 boy.

im pretty sure the cop would have him no chance i dunno what you would need a taser for.

what a pussy cop, like hairy said its a grown man against a 15 year old kid. He could have used mace or by the looks of how small the kid was just overpowered him with his bare hands. The police officer that did it should be put in jail for excessive use of authority and man slaughter.

As I`ve said before, police training w/ tasers increases the likelihood of their use when they are totally unnecessary. By all of them tasing each other to "see how it feels" they are creating a social norm that if I can do it, so can you. That is exactly why people are dying from their over-use.

The kid could have been pratically full grown by 15/16. He was also intoxicated so he was acting irratically. Nothing wrong with what the cop did. The cop responding to the scene could have been a 5ft female cop, so the use of a tazer would have been necessary to apprehend the suspect.

Why the hell does everyone picture some little scrawny nerd getting attacked by a 6ft 6 300lbs police officer?? Everyone should stop assuming the kid`s height/weight on their own because there are people who are pretty much grown by his age.

SP1DER@everyone`s genetics is different. You maybe able to overpower your brother but maybe someone elses 15yr brother would whoop your ass.

The `po-lice` acted in self defense from what I understand.
You don`t lunge at a cop and expect to get off easy, and I`m sure the death was unintentional.
Probably didn`t help that he was drunk/ high either!
