As ever, Ron Paul is right. The House`s absurd new tax on bonuses is nothing but a writ of attainder. Let the AIG employees have their day in court before voiding their contracts. The Constitution also clearly prohibits ex post facto laws, but it seems the Congress is too caught up in populist anger to follow the law.

I can`t say I agree with you Pfeil, since I highly doubt the American people are going to find a way out of that one, and only the elites will pay the price.
I mean look at the current state of things. The elites are still rich, they`re still making money, and it`s the common Joe that is screwed. And whose money do you think it is that they`re spending?

The problem is there, it`s very clear, and we need to solve it. Just seems like we`re digging a deeper hole, rather than finding a way out.
What`s funny(not really) is that there are some definite ways of taking care of this, bit by bit, but we aren`t following through. Some are more drastic than others, but we seriously need to clean up this country, and as a good start, remove the corrupt politicians. Easier said than done I`m sure, as it hasn`t happened yet.

And who would we replace all the corrupt politicians with? An incorrupt or incorruptible politician? Is there such a thing? As long as there is money, there will be greed, and as long as there is greed, people will be corruptible. Morality can`t be instilled through political uprising or "guns". We`d have better luck telling a dog to be a cat.

There will always be corruptible people around. Every man has a price. Whether its money, objects or fame. The problem we face now is they are corruptible but they also have no morales. Need to find men and women who can and will stand up when their morales are crossed. Because when you cross someones morales and beliefs they become incorruptible. Or atleast that is my main belief on them. So then you put them in office after public humiliating the ones already in. And no we are not past physical revolt and uprising. We just want to think we are more civilized than that.
