" tilt shift photography " is that technique used to make everything look like models?? I wonder how they do that!

I loved the attention to detail in that, someone must have the patience of a saint to do all that if it was stop animation?

If I didn`t know better Id say this was claymation or mini models. Looks awesome.

I don`t get it, it looks too real to be miniature models and too fake to be real :S

Seriously confused about whether that was real or created. Looked too good to be fake but if it`s real then how long must he have waited to get those shots and from how many cameras? Waiting at the coast just waiting for someone to have an accident, shots of the helicopter pad, shots of the rescue seemingly not from land (though that`s not verified), etc.

It`s either great patience, attention to detail and photography or it`s fantastic animation of one sort or another.

Miniature faking is a post-processing technique, which involves selectively blurring a photo to simulate the narrow depth of field found in macro photography and some tilt-shift photography, making the image appear to be of a miniature model.

@GB!

Yes and no. There are tilt shift lenses and a post processing technique that uses an artificial lens blur. I just learned the post-production for photography. It`s really easy, just a google search away, and could probably be done in GIMP.

This looks amazing. Didn`t know about this O_o now I will try to do one hehehe

BTW, the guy says in his site that the whole rescue was a training exercise and they let him capture the whole thing. He has a bunch of other videos like this. Go check it out :D
