Dawkins gave a very funny answer, but unfortunately he didn`t answer Tyson`s critic, he just quoted somebody else using the same "motto".
I feel that Tyson is somewhat right to criticize Dawkins "I`m right, if you don`t agree, you`re an idiot" attitude as it serves no educational purpose whatsoever. More than that, it`s one of the "weapons" used by religion/cult leaders since the early days of mankind: "I`m right, if you don`t agree, you`ll die/burn in hell/other generic tormenting punishment". He`s one of the most brilliant minds of our times so I think he should bring him self down to the level of a cult/religious leader with that.
Anyway, funny answer nonetheless!

I think the debate has room for both styles of rhetoric. But I also feel Tyson has a valid point.

its a typical response by someone who has nothing to say or knows that he cant answer the question.. they reword everything and talking in "lawyer english"

It didn`t answer the question because the video limited the response. If we had the chance to watch the entire segment between Tyson and Dawkins, we would then have a better perspective on this rebuke.

If being honest about the likelyhood of gods is too offensive; watch some John Stewart and whatnot. If you`re beyond the accidental touchy subject, and you`re intrested and learning about it: Then JUST PRESENT THE FACTS. Don`t ease into it and try to frame it in some sort of monotheistic, keeping to archaic beliefs etc. Just keep it simple, present the facts, explain the theory that binds them together.
It`s not as if he`s saying, everybody else is wrong and can never be right in any possible way. He`s saying: This is by far the most likely, scientifically supported conclusion to be drawn. And if you have something to add that`s unlikely, historically accepted and dogmatic belief; go elsewhere.
Your claims have been adressed, either adress facts in a scientific manner or have remove yourself once again from the debate format and veil thyself in ignorance (eg. Fuck off).
