Everytime something about the financial fiasco is brought up I just mentally change the cause of the crisis to zombies rather than derivatives, corruption, de-regulation, greed, etc, etc.

5/5 For an easy to follow timeline of the shit storm.

^The reporters that were covering this from the beginning are few and far between. It just so happens that everyone and everything mainstream USA had a hand in this shithole. Anything to make more money, they did it. Treasury OK`d it, Bush OK`d it, Congress and the Senate OK`d it - and the people got fucked.
And will continue to do so as long as Congress continues to sleep with lobbyists.

Excuse the language but...... Where the fuck have you been?

Olbermann has been screaming this shit for years while being overtalked an minimized but Reicht-Wing douche Bags who have take over American Television.

Folks;
There is no "Left Wing" media. It`s all a facade, cooked up to to skew your perception. There is a right wing media and FAR right wing media. Take your pick.

^^^JimCars, Where was I? Well, search my profile I`ve been taking about this going on 2 years now.. The only time, these so called NEWS agencies even came close to talking about this was when Ron Paul, was on their show. And even then, they marginalized him no matter what the Network he was on. But if you can find me one clip of Olbermann talking about the 40 - 1, Leveraged Debt of these companies, or the part about the Government doing away w/ the laws that were passed after the last Depression to avoid another in the 30`s, I`ll eat my word`s...If you cannot then, `FUCK YOU` JimCarrSavannah you FUCKIN` SHEOPLE, PIECE OF SHIT!
As far as Rightwing media, get a grip man! These Conservatives are known as NEO-Con`s a name they gave themselves..Just as in Canada where I`m from we have Progressive Conservatives, there is NO RIGHT WING...Right Wing = Conservative, and Conservative means, `Small Government`, `Lower Taxes`, `Individual Right`s`...But instead we have these new parties that are in fact LIBERAL-CONSERVATIVE, this is why we are FUCKED...Liberal is one step from Socialism, which is one Step from Communism and or Fascism...

somehow this fucking idiot thinks deregulation caused the fed to inflate the money market via absurdly low interest rates and inducing the real estate bubble.

does he also think another symptom of the recession, contraction of previously over-available credit, is caused by deregulation?

lastly, freddie/fannie is hugely responsible for the real estate bubble. is he for regulating government excesses? i doubt it.

blaming deregulation for the crisis is amateur beyond belief. naturally only spiked fucktards and keith think the theory has legitimacy.

@dmens
Are you an idiot? So basically what you`re telling us is that we shouldn`t have oversight over our own fucking investments?
Lack of regulation is why we can`t INDITE these fuckers. Lack of regulation is why the billions that were stolen from our pockets and is now in the hands of Wall street without the people being able to have a say. The inflation was caused by a lack of oversight of the Fed. We know what they did, but because the law that says "don`t be greedy fucktards or we hang you by your childrens vaginas" hasn`t been introduced yet.
I agree with Bill Maher: We need to hang some of these fuckers. BOOHOO I CANT LIVE OFF 400,000 A YEAR.

regulation is government control not individual control, dumbass. individuals have always had control over their property and how they choose to use it. government will never be able to regulate a speculative market, nor should it be allowed to.

billions stolen from our pockets? theft means someone else has your wealth. that wealth is gone because of the speculative nature of the market. any person is free to abstain from the market if they so choose. that is another simple concept you fail to understand, because you`re a fucking idiot.

the fed is a government institution. who should have oversight of the fed? another fucking government bureaucracy? you acknowledge government caused the crisis and your solution is more government and more regulation of the private economy? you`re a complete moron.

here`s an idea, get rid of the fucking federal reserve and get government out of the private economy. deregulation is not the problem, government is the problem. the historically ignorant clamor for more regulation because they ignore the long record of success whenever government gets the fuck out of the way, and a record of failure whenever the government is allowed to interfere.

^im game for getting rid of the IRS, the reserve, opting out of NATO and the UN. Im game for those. But deregulation is what led to this crisis - BECAUSE THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH IT. BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE TO ANSWER TO ANYONE, THEY COULD DO WHAT THEY WANTED.

Government oversight is good so long as there is a stable government in position. That, my friend, is why you caught me with my pants down. The US of A is home to fucks that want money fast, rather than earning it. Always looking for the quick ticket to getting rich.

deregulation of the private markets didn`t cause the crisis. legally investment houses must identify their methods; it is up to the individual investor to assess risk and decide whether to give them money. consider the numerous people who declined to give bernie madoff any money.

meanwhile the government can print absurd amounts of money, give out ridiculous loans, and do all sorts of stupid shit without any kind of accountability, usually with sums of money that wall street cannot even imagine.

you already said the government caused the crisis, so why do you keep insisting deregulation will fucking do anything? how about regulating the government, as in, keep them the fuck out of the economy?
