the truck`s clearance is probably very close to the bridge and what`s happening is that there`s some kind of bump that causes them to clip it at the end (for the ones that barely hit it), the other are just apparently too dumb to look and see their shit isn`t fitting under it.

i used to drive a Hino, and if your smart u memorize the height clearance of ur truck like it was ur phone number. i remember i went under a bridge 50cm (2") higher than my truck (going 90km/h 56mph) and i shat a brick, but the simple math saved the truck. they put those fuckin signs there for a reason.

My company has two International 5 ton trucks with the height taped to the inside of the cab. Needless to say our 12`1" and 12`6" truck would suffer the same fate going under that bridge.

We have a bridge just like that in my town. They plastered the side of it with black and yellow warning stripes, put metal warning tubes up the street that were the same height as the bridge so you knew the height in advance, and added electronic sensors with flashing warning lights.

And of course, people still fucking hit it.

I have a little sympathy for these drivers.
The sign is obviously hung too high, take a good look at the yellow truck when it backs out. With the top mangled upwards its able to actually hit the sign. Yes you should know the height of your truck. But if you fit under the hanging sign...
