Breeding is Crazy, But having your dog cloned after it dies is a whole new fuckin level..... just like these two couples that paid about $150,000 to get their dog cloned and at the same time knowing that it wont survive is............ I`m just speachless.

all these people should be committed.
in natural states, a breed of whatever-fucking-animal-it-is will usually breed until one comes out that is better than the rest, eventually, over time, these rare specimens, breed until the majority of them is superior. when all these superior (and i mean superior in terms of environment and needs) specimens will breed until a rare one that is better than the rest will come out, and breed. these people are actively stopping the evolution process in it`s tracks.

strike what i said about committing these people, lets kill them all.

and i mean that, i`ve met a few dog breeders in my time (in-laws are into dog shows) and i do nothing but treat them as bad as possible. needless to say, i`m not in very good terms with my in-laws.

no they`re not "using it". if they were using evolution the result would be a better dog. they`re stopping it when they "cull" the puppies that are born better than the other ones.
Disrupting, arresting, are words that could also be used. the result is a bunch of genetically fucked up dogs. this is not evolution.

either way, i believe we are on the same side. why start arguments over logistics, dude?

i agree with the first part ( the one about better fit for their local environment. as a matter of fact, that`s exactly what i said in my first post). but i think that in order for the process to be called evolution, it needs to end up in a "better suited" organism. a breeder`s whimsical wants hardly qualify as "environment."

i mean, this is not a documentary dude. i don`t know where the fuck you got that idea since it`s implied in the title. exposé`s are usually one-sided since the purpose of them is to expose whatever has been going on behind the scenes.

I have a basenji, and he has seizures. He falls over, his eyes glaze over, he makes a running motion, soils himself, and foams at the mouth. It`s really disturbing, and all you can do to help him is sit there and hold him to make sure he doesn`t hurt himself.

Don`t all the people above recognize the idea of cultural selection as an opposite of natural selection? The evolution of vegetables that we eat is controlled. The best tastes are preserved, the worst tastes are purged. Sheep are bred for the wool, not for their survival skills. Cows are bred for the maximum amount of milk they can produce, not their ability to dropkick a predator in its face. In the same ways dogs are not `born`, they are produced for their function. I`m sad to say, but dogs are not companions, they`re produce. You get what you want. And theres alot of possibilities. You can cross-breed what you want to get the `perfect`dog. Yet, it will still be a freak of nature since it`s characteristics will be controlled by culture (it`s characteristics that you like, above the characteristics that will give it the best chance to survive), and not by good, old-fashioned nature.

This is such an eye opener and im really glad you posted it. Im a proud dog owner and I cannot imagine the feeling of seeing my dog in such agonizing pain. I wouldve never known how bad breeding could get...until now. I`ll be sure to make every dog owner I know see this. I almost teared watching this to be honest :(
