This video will turn into one of those future videos made in the 60s and 70s predicting how it would have been now. All wrong.

Kool concepts nonetheless.

Heh, if they can`t get an OS right how do the suppose they`ll get all this done?

Actually funny thing happened to me. I just bought a new laptop and it came with Vista Business installed but they only gave me Windows XP Pro if I needed to reformat my hard drive. So now I`m running XP and I couldn`t be happier.

its gonna be like the time george orwell wrote the book 1984 and published it in 1948 and thought that the world will be in world war 3 and new england would be a communist state, turns out he was all wrong.

I saw some scary stuff in there and some seemingly limitless potential.. the mind is a wonderful tool.. I pray that this is not used for personal gain at the expense of many..

I seriously doubt too much of this will be available in 10 years. Look, home computers have been around for 30 odd years and they haven`t really changed all that much in that time.

They had to edit out about 37 BSOD`s.

Seriously, I saw a lot of pointless blingbling, a lot of arm tiring devices, a lot of expensive screens with finger smudges all over them, and a seamless world that cannot flow from MS operating systems as we know them.

This whole suface fetish is a fantasy diversion away from the facts:

-MS promotes user interface systems designed to keep idiots stupid and useless by not allowing them to learn. If you doubt me, check out the MS help files, look at the overall coherency of their OS`s. Pathetic. You can`t even copy/paste and error message to search it on the intertubes, you have to fucking scribble it out by hand.

MS systematically thwarts the development of advanced user interface methods, by crippling key aspects of the user interface. EG, you can`t even tell which of multiple keyboards originated a keystroke, so you can`t reassign the key functions from number or gamepads, because there can only be one function of all WASD or 12345 or CTRL or SHIFT. Unless of course the manfacturer has special fancy drivers.

Fuck, Vista doesn`t even have pixel independant font scaling. The bloody Next had a postscript UI for chissakes. Everything in the whole vid is impossible without that.

Yea some cool concepts but also some downfalls in this vision. Looks to me like they were tracking the location of people at 23 secs in.
Wonder who`s idea this was ?
The rest of the technology looked an awful lot like the "matrix" movies to me.

Technology is increasing at an exponential rate. There is now way to truly predict what new things there will be, but we can tell from tech trends that we are nearing some pretty epic shit.

Who the fuck even said we`ll still exist in 2019? From all the shit happening lately and all the crap for 2012 you never know what could happen. I mean I`m not saying it will or trying to scare anybody or anything but Microsoft you need to slow down, relax, and not put "expected" dates on your technology.

The only thing from that video I would really want would be the actually coherent language translation device. Then again, those How-To goggles were pretty nifty.

I`m saying all this while struggling with the constant affliction that is Vista. Hah.
