Anyone else notice how the ones in favor have a far better argument towards legalizing it than the people saying to not legalize it?

Because you don`t have a way to test a driver`s THC level?

Poor cop, QQ more because you can`t make a ticket.

Here`s a hint, the slower they`re driving, the more blitzed out of their skull they are.

The People have spoken. We want pot legalized now, period.

There may be no better example of a situation where the people want one thing, but the government wants something else (that is wrong), and does it IN SPITE of the OBVIOUS wishes of the people.

1. Federally: Legalize pot for posession under 20 dry lbs / 20 plants.

2. Federally: Legalize pot RETROACTVELY for same.

Included would be non-violent corrollary charges such as money laundering or proceeds of crime charges that flow only from the now legal pot charges. Not to include other crimes like B&E to steal pot, etc., those are their own crimes.

Now, for all offenders caught by the changed laws:

3. Free ALL jailed pot offenders. Include 3 months of unemployment benefits per year served, to help these victims back into the community.

4. Drop ALL pending legal actions against pot offenders.

5. Purge ALL pot and related crime_records of pot offenders.

6. Return ALL confiscated assets to pot offenders, or pay equivalent value in _compensation (don`t forget to take off taxes ;)

7a. Immediately redirect all pot related policing and legal_resources to process all pot offenders out of the _system, until the last one is freed.

7b. Thereafter, redirect all pot related policing and legal_resources to fight CORPORATE CRIME.

8. Reconsider extacy for the same possible treatment.

THAT IS THE TRUE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

The only down side is that the price will drop substantially, so us small time growers will have to work much harder.

the bottom line to me really is that alcohol is legal and that in so many ways is worse then marijuana. People always bring up an argument of a doctor getting stoned, well i say if my doctor goes home at night and relaxes with a joint im okay with that. I would MUCH rather that then have him go home and get drunk off his ass and come in hung over to work. And its really not addictive at all, many doctors have come to the conclusion and to even quote Dr.Drew Pinsky "People who are addicted to marijuana are alcoholics" meaning that if you can get addicted to pot you can get addicted to ANYTHING, that its really all in your mind. and really these people that are against it don`t seem to understand that whether it`s legal or not if someone wants to smoke it they`re still going to...

and lastly the war on this drug is pointless. The SPEND millions on trying to stop people from smoking weed, and while it does get some marijuana off the street its no where near enough to ever come close to stopping everyone in America from smoking. Instead of spending all this money and stopping hardly anything they could be MAKING BILLIONS!!!!! At the same time they could regulate it, and as they say only allow sale to people 21 and over, which obviously still wont stop people but it would be a better standard then we have now

Re:

Access to teenagers? A few teens I`ve talked/chatted with claim it`s easier for them to get marijuana than it is to get alcohol. Legalized marijuana with the same age and ID restrictions as alcohol and tobacco may, in fact, make it more difficult for teenagers to get hold of it. Either way, they`re probably going to get it, and I`d rather not force our kids to associate with criminal elements to obtain it.

Driving? Yeah, there probably would be more people driving while high...and less people driving while drunk. I know which I prefer. I think legalized marijuana would offer another choice besides alcohol and reduce the abuse of the latter, which I feel to be more harmful to families and society in general.

The only negative point I believe is the one the cop brings up. The point of testing for the amount of THC, I know many people say they can drive high, I can believe it. But for me driving high is a bad thing, I haven`t been in an accident or anything but just don`t like the feeling and I`m not %100 sure if it is safe.

In light of that I am all for the legalization. Then again I still wouldn`t really be able to do it because it will most likely forever be a screen for jobs, maybe if it was legalized might cause more screenings from companies.

Well, as a Dutchman and resident of the beautiful city of Amsterdam, I`m naturally completely opposed to the legalization of marihuana in the United States..

Do you know how much money we would lose if you guys could just smoke this stuff legally in your own homes and not have to take a trip across the Atlantic to Pot Paradise? Please, have some sympathy and don`t bankrupt us!

I`m smoking up untaxed weed right now...minus 1 dollar for my government. Plus 1 dollar to the underground world of narcotics, hard drugs, and gangs. I just like the weed but I know where the profits go. Last month he got an AK. Maybe this month he`ll get bullets for it.

I can`t help but get irritated every time this debate comes up. People throw around a good comparison, alcohol, but rarely bring-up what most informed people would agree is a far greater danger, prescription and off-the-shelf grade drugs. More individuals die from either, let alone combined, than alcohol and, the hard to quantify, Marijuana.

Any law that claims to save lives should be based off of cold number NOT explicitly taking into account any socioeconomic impact because if they did, cars or damn near anything with wheels would be illegal. If a man wants to go out and get blitzed out his mind, he should be just as free to do so as the all-too-common alcoholic.

On a lighter note: Stoners are generally more calm than nearly any alcoholic. Also, your stoner has the added benefit of helping the local food industry.

Legalized it and anything else I may want to fuck myself-up with. It`s a free countr... haha... I couldn`t finish typing that!
