I was born in 84, so I was never really around for these songs to be released . .

. . yet I find myself being strangely pulled back to the music of the 80s. Things like this, Pat Benetar, Roxette, Tears for Fears, etc etc.

I think its those formative years.

We hear the music even though we don`t remember it on a highly cognitive level. It gets implanted in the sections of the brain that aren`t immediately protected by the mental shields we create as we age, therefore making these songs feel very nostalgic without us really realizing it.

1983 here. I think we`re connected to them `cause they played these on the radio as we were growing up. They weren`t new, but they were still fresh.

so true. i was born 86, i seriously think we had the best era of music next to late 70`s... Michael Jackson (before he came a pedo), R.E.M, Jane`s Addiction, etc.

feel the exact same way here guys and i agree with Red Heaven. TONS of random 80`s music is incredibly familiar with me, but i wouldn`t know the songs unless i was told what they were. just hearing the songs sparks lots of memories of childhood.

It`s amazing how many people are similar. I have these exact same feelings to a lot of 80`s music as well. The Church, tears for fears, the police, billy idol. I was born in 85 and I know exactly how you all feel about this kind of music.

Born in December `85. Cool coincidence, because I always loved this song.

Another funny thing is, the bass guitar featured in the video, the Yamaha BB414 Black Pearl is the exact same bass I have! This is awesome!

i was born on 79, in mexico, so we got everything from the us a couple of years late back then. i might as well have been born on 82 or 83.

those ARE the formative years, and it peaks during adolescence. that`s why when you`re in high school, some songs hit you really hard... it`s your hormones. Once the hormone barrage is over, for some reason, music turns into shit, bringing into the discussion the "music sucks now" argument.

it`s funny, in about 5 years all teenagers will think that the music industry is going to shit, even though it went to shit when Clearchannel starteD BUYING EVERYTHING.
