Bravo Maher. Let`s not forget to put a few government asshole`s heads on poles while we`re at it. The reality is there is more blood on these crooks hands than all the melamine milk killed babies X 1000000. We just can`t prosecute them for it because they own the law, along with everything else, and We The People don`t.

It really boils my blood every time someone mentions how well those fat-cats made off on the sub-prime-mortgage lending scheme, while the working-class pays for their greed(which has already cost millions their homes). The entire bailout(9.7 tril) has cost each American well over $30k in paid taxes.

Let those fucks pay 99% of their entire net worth and they`ll still be sitting prettier than most everyone else combined....instead of letting them sit on the ill-earned profits and grabbing at every penny they can from the government handouts(which were opposed 99-1 while Bush was in office, Obama`s getting away with a lot more)

Or better yet, as Maher said, let`s start eliminating them altogether so they can`t do this to us anymore.

I`m not one for the death penalty - but think, REALLY think about where these guys serve time - in a private, minimum security prison with lots of great fun things to do so they don`t get bored. All of this payed for by the taxpayers. They ruin millions of lives with their schemes and fraud, and do less time than a guy robbing a Seven-Eleven. Don`t kill them - treat them LIKE US. Put them in a real prison - even for a year. If they don`t get killed right away, they`ll be the fuck-pig for some Neo-Nazi scumbag until their sentence is up. Let`s see if they think it`s worth the payoff then. They are not better than us, let`s remind them.

^ Exactly right. Unfortunately, they qualify for protective custody for that reason. It`s deemed "cruel and unusual punishment" to put them in with the peons. What they deserve is exactly cruel and unusual punishment.

All I can say that these guys prove that the American Justice system is a waste of time and money. God help me if I get arrested for arson in your country (which is a felony if I remember correctly?) I might go to ACTUAL jail! =O

But if I steal millions of your hard earned dollars then take a dump on you by retiring on some yacht somewhere AT THE SAME TIME as destroying your economy, well I might just get a pat on the back =)

Anti-God Bless America.

I always wondered why seizing of assets is not on the table. It`s too huge an amount of wealth transferred so quickly to so few hands. Remember when they told us how these banks were "too big" to fail? Well, why is this global fraud "too big" to prosecute?

I understand that these real estate claims were chopped up and scattered so widely that it is too complicated to sort out the individual holdings. But there HAS to be a way to identify who was constructing these investments (brainiac quant accountants, of which there are few) and more importantly, who was paying them to do this.

There has to be a paper trail. I don`t buy this "it`s too complicated" bullshit. It may be too complicated for 100% accuracy, but you never need 100% information to figure out who is behind a heist and how they pulled it off.

It may be that it politically scares the piss out of all elected officials because such an investigation would roil the Lords of Wall Street, and almost definitely rattle the cage of individuals at the Federal Reserve. They are made men. They flood the markets with money and decide when the most opportune time is to contract the money supply, when they know individuals are overextended on their credit. And who owns the means of production in a capitalist society? Private individuals, sure. But more specifically bankers. Ultimately, what happens in an economic crisis? Bankruptcies.

And as those real assets flow back to the creditors (from bankrupted businesses back to the lending banks) and the <insert investment flavor of the month here> bubbles burst, banks are left holding plants, factories, machinery, REAL estate, etc. that is worth much more than the inflated money changing hands. It`s the ultimate Buy Low, Sell High scheme from the view of the banker (it helps to lay face down and slither around in the grass to understand bankers` perspective of Capitalism).

Anyways, Wall Street and the bankers defrauded many countries, not just their own because they simply didn`t feel like facing the economic consequences of their own reckless speculating. Competition is a fine thing for the bankers` and the Wall Street moguls` country, except when it comes to their own jobs. What is the minimum number of wealth holders needed to pass off production as competitive? How few filthy rich families is too few to have real competition in the markets?

^^ Im no economist but even I can tell that something HUGELY bullshit and capitalist went down amongst the "Lords of Wall St"

All I care about is justice - let them keep their stinky thieved millions - so long as its frozen in some shitty bank (maybe like the ones they used to control and take nice bonuses out of) and let em` rot in prison checking their share holdings that they`ll never use - EVER.

Bringing me back to justice, I agree Phars, there has got to be a fuckin trail - especially with that amount of bloody funds!!!

HAVING assumed this though, we are talking about the same country that can lose "180bil+" in war corruption and can`t find Osama`s paper trail (most wanted man by US government still or not? can`t remember) - so maybe it will just end in the usual American style - absolutely unsolved.

Once again, Anti-God Bless America (sorry if I offend anyone with this regular sign off, but stfu and get used to it =D)

^ kilopop19, but the government is owned and operated by the banks, who wanted deregulation so they could gambe with unviable loans, which they could bullshit inflate and resell the imaginary value, so they could make more money.

Government = Banks = bunch of fucking crooks, the lot of them.
