Not to bothered with lighting and graphics, but as far as i can remember the gameplay of the original was pretty good. Hope they dont forget whats important.

Graphics look good and the gameplay looks solid enough. Just hope the ballistics are realistic.

The first OFP was great. I still remember cowering in the bushes hoping that damn Hind won`t spot me. Or the mad dash for cover when a T-80 comes a-rolling into town.

To hell with the graphics.

I still play the old OFP with addons. Nothing comes close to it when it comes to a realistic representation of what a firefight is like. Especially when you get the really well made coop missions.

The only problems is I really hope they kick up the AI and keep the "view bob" style they had in the original. IT looks like they`re trying something new that looks more like CS to draw in that sort of arcade gamer which killed the rainbow six series :(

I had some great times with the original. My whole squad getting wiped out and I had to hide in the bushes from all the tanks and choppers. One time I went solo and came upon an enemy chopper. Of course I went for a spin over the whole island, destroying as much as a could.

I also loved going AWOL and killing my entire squad and just seeing how long I could survive. Hopefully the best elements of the first game make it into this one.

^ Damn straight, to both of the above comments.

I remember in OFP 1 ... *sound of choppers amid a cocaine binge*

... my sarge was in the vehicle ahead and got taken out in the first volley - we leapt from our truck, hit the dirt, rifles out, and huddled on the south side - which we believed was sniper free. There was the occasional burst of ak-74 from the north, coupled with some of ours. Another squad of ours had intercepted them. It was then that the grunt to my right dropped screaming for a medic and we were under some serious automatic weapons fire. I took command, ordering the troops to hold position and take any targets of opportunity. I stood, and dashed for some nearby shrubs, drawing fire from the rest of my squad and giving them a target to pinpoint. The bushes scratched my face, grenades gave that blistering crack-thump sound off to my right somewhere, and bullets buzzed like pissed off hornets not 3 feet away.

A few seconds of quiet ... I stood, and dashed for the next bunch of shrubs. There was ... I dunno .. a zipping sound? Like a pencil case opened by the Hulk .. something tripped me and I hit the dirt forehead first. The kind of crash you know will leave a scar but you feel it mostly in your jaw as you grit down. I tried to move but nothing worked ... nothing .. so sleepy ...

*helicopter sounds fade away...*

It was then that OFP 1 informed me through its sombre score that I`d just been killed by friendly fire. Let that be a lesson kiddies - no matter how much Quake, Doom, or Halo you`ve played, FRIENDLY FIRE AIN`T.

Now THAT is why this game rocks.

*pauses, reads* Now if that ain`t a goddamn comment, I don`t know what the fuck is.
