I inclined to agree with surfer... Unless a reservoir was let free or some other sort of water store was let loose, there is no way that an Earthquake can cause the discharge of rivers to increase in such a dramatic way.

Most likely explanation is that some sort of water store broke. even with flashfloods, there is a steady increase in the flow, not a sudden omg wtf wall of water. Very interesting video 5/5 I love geography and extreme environmental events such as this intrigue me. The amound of material carried in that sort of flood would astound most people, a flood like that would roll down boulders the size of motorbikes with savage force. And erode banks with such speed. I`m sure you all saw those trees being carried down in that.. very good upload.
