I think he combined the research of TED over the past few years very well. He has some great ideas, but I`d love to see them take root in a more official fashion.

These are both exciting and scary times to live in.

While I`m sure many of these advances will aid mankind greatly, I`ll hate to see what warfare is going to evolve into, I doubt we can even imagine what it will look like.

^^ It is so sad to see our human innovations that greatly benefit man kind, and defines us a human beings be used as tools of power to oppress our fellow man. I hope that in the near future human kind will reach a point of enlightenment so that we can finally rid ourselves of this flaw that plagues us today. I think the key to that is to finally know, not think or believe, but know that were are not alone in the universe.

He forgot to mention Homo Sapiens Domestica Obediensis, a new species differentiated by 15000 years of behavioural adaptation to complex hierarchical societies, not by gross physical adaptation. We have mastered the world`s physical environments with our minds and adequately versatile bodies. But now our own societies master us, and we submit or perish (and thus fail to reproduce). We are now a species with a vast majory walking around trying to find someone to tell them what to do. There are usually a few willing to oblige, most often with a "Bend over, and give me your money."

It will be interesting to see whether the sheeple have a future, or will be their own ultimate undoing.

^^ Unless there is some kind of reboot in consciousness so to speak, the sheeple will stay sheeple. People today don`t bother questioning things, sheeple don`t know they are sheeple, hence being sheeple in the first place. When the undoing comes, it will be interesting to see how they react, curl up in a ball as usual, or stand up and open their eyes. My bet is on the curling up, unless ofcourse the above I mentioned takes place.

Right now we have the resources to stop most of the major problems facing the world, but our current system revolves around how much money something will cost. If you went to a politician and asked him to help fund a project for you, he would ask: "How much is it going to cost?" depending on the answer, he might not help you. If we put money aside though and ask, "Do we have the resources to make this happen?" the answer would always be yes.
