I studied Wing Chun for years when I lived in Sydney, still would be but there isn`t a school in Woolgoolga.
We had an open day and I was asked too hold the pads for my sifu, Jim Fung, to demonstrate the one inch punch as I was the biggest guy in the room, Im 6`4" and at the time was as fit as I have ever been, I`m a fat bustard now lol. I flew at least 10 feet and had a bruise on my chest that hurt like a mother fucker for weeks.
Sifu later told me that if he had done the technique properly I would not have flown backwards at all, I would have dropped too the floor in a heap due to the force being distributed to my internal organs.

one inch punch is like a impulse response. the impact would just fluctuate into the body and if hit on the weak spots, it`ll just damage the internals.
