Japanese Whaling Vessel Rammed by The St...

Captain Paul Watson, from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, said his ship, the Steve Irwin, was forced to hit the Japanese ship Yushin Maru No. 2 about 8.30am Feb 6th 2009 (AEDT). "I tried to back off, but it was too sudden and we ran right into their stern ... they threw themselves right in front of us. There wasn't anything we could do".

Fucking Activists. Everything else they have done was bad enough. But intentionally ramming another ship? I would have opened fire on them. I would be very disgusted if these fuckers were not stormed down by the next sea port for international crimes.

whale numbers are back up, i live on the coast line where they migrate and have seen more and more each year.
If you keep the balance and only let them take a few (by annoying them, jumping/sinking their ships, ramming them, etc) then the whale numbers wont decrease as rapidly and everyone wins.

So whale numbers are back up? WELL now we have no reason remaining to shoot explosive harpoons into them and butcher them for their meat.
Yes I realise the hypocrisy concerning our livestock trade, but seems to me that the Japanese market for whale meat is dying with the last generation, younger people there just don`t like it.
So why persist?

The younger generation of Asian kids does seem to be turning away (a bit) from Shark Fin soup and Whale, but there is still enough of a demand to re-decimate whales, and Sharks are not doing so well currently.

Watson is controversial, but I think I am more on his side than not.

I can`t believe he claims that the whaling ship cut him off when they have this video of him clearly ramming the ship. He cares less about whales than getting interesting footage for the Discovery channel crew that`s been following them around.

They made a big deal earlier because the whalers took two activists "hostage", when they boarded the Yushin Maru without permission, and were detained for two days until they were turned over to an Australian customs boat.

The founder of Greenpeace left the group when he saw them moving in this direction, whatever you think about whaling, whether you think that it is good for whales with dwindling krill populations, or you think that it is genocide on the same level as Rwanda, or you think that it shouldn`t be bothered with while there are more important things(ethnic cleansing, child sex slave trade, 800 million people staving) to worry about. The tactics that they use are indefensible, if they really wanted to save whales they would be in a court room, not throwing glass jars at workers, illegally boarding ships while flying pirate(slightly modified) flags and ramming ships putting HUMAN lives in danger.

You ignorant judgmental hypocrites. You realize Japan annually kills less than 0.03% of the total minke whale population of 600,000+, as they have been for decades without the whale population being even remotely threatened?

When was the last time some Japanese came into our waters to b*tch about our toxic polluting industries and physically block our carpet bombing runs in Iraq?

Every single whale species targeted by the japanese this past half century has continually increased in numbers. At least Japan hasn`t created a bigger global footprint each passing year. Can you say the same for the increasingly genocidal policies of the US that kill far more humans and ocean fauna than the rest of the world combined?

Bombs for Jesus on the right, activist hippies on the left. And yet Japan still doesn`t raise a peep. Why don`t you leave them the fark alone until they do something more drastic than what they`ve already done for centuries.

This is the second time in a year that Sea Shepherd activists have rammed another boat. Last time they rammed a Canadian Coast Guard boat. It is about time that these fools get taught a lesson.
