A guy calls in to an atheist radio talk show with claims that the end of the world is near, president Obama is the anti-christ and that the book of revelations will come true but then the hosts of the talk show use sense and knowledge to own the caller.

This guy is the reason why religious wars start. The brainless halfwits who get brainwashed by the greedy into truly believing and i mean seriously thinking it is 100% fact that their god has told them through a book, supposedly writed by god him/her but usually him for some strange reason, that his god is better than the other guys god so he`s obligated to force the other guy to believe in his god other wise his god will get very angry with him and will send him to some place of great pain and agony after he dies. It`s 2009 people, don`t you think it`s time to give up our ratty old security blanket that is religion and just admit loud and proud, WE DON`T KNOW!!!! I mean there`s just so much about this thing we call our universe, that we don`t know yet. But i feel that given time, as a species, if we managed not to wipe ourselves off the face of the planet, we will figure it out some day. Seriously, if we manage to keep up the staggering rate at which our knowledge is expanding even for the next 100 years who knows what we might discover. Hell i saw an article recently that scientist are looking at splicing jellyfish dna with humans to give us the ability to self regenerate. All i can say is:

What was the point of this video? This is like an olympian athlete competing against a special-olympian athlete. This is neither a victory for atheism, unless all that atheists aspire to is to beat up on the little guys, which I doubt, nor is the caller a "typical fucking christian," as so eloquently put by xpotsmoker.

Its not really a victory for atheism, however it clearly shows another example of someone who believes in something because people around him tell him to.

The fact that he doesn`t even know his own religion or even, as it seems, practice his religion, yet he will try to debate with free thinkers who do know what they are talking about because they have taken a step back, looked and the materials available, scrutinized the information and have made up their own minds.

1) Most of what we know we believe because somebody tells us to, and this is not necessarily a bad thing. (Such as: I believe the stars and planets are arrayed in a certain way despite only seeing lights in the sky. I believe dinosaurs existed despite never having seen them or been on archaelogical digs. et al.)

2) Do we really need examples to know that some people are uneducated, Christian and atheist alike, and have not learned to think for themselves?

3) More importantly, as I asked before, what is the purpose of this video if not to mock the uneducated? Is that not snobbery? You started a sentence with "the fact...," but didn`t finish it, although I wish you would have.

There is nothing incredible about these guys. They aren`t amazingly articulate or smart and the caller wasn`t exactly much competition. If this is what they have to be proud of then this isn`t saying much.

Seriously, the caller never even read Revelations. At least most (serious) Christians have read the Bible. And you guys think there aren`t people who are Atheists out of intellectual laziness?
