^^I agree, been working at Geek Squad part-time while going to college. As a job for a teenager,it`s great, no responsibility + employee discount = win. However, I`m the only person out of 12 people(every GS employee in the store) that actually have a couple of certifications and somewhat know my shit. Honestly, most of the people in geek squad are glorified computer salesman that know how to reformat windows and ship broken shit to manufacturers.

But considering I`m 18 and typing this at work, sipping on some mountain dew and trying to engineer a dart gun with compressed air cans and paper clips as we speak and getting paid $19.25/hour to do so, can`t complain :D

Besides, everyone knows Newegg > Best Buy

Except that I bought a business lic.
But Best buy saw that and didn`t even want anything to do with me.
They want trainable kids.
No offense fhgwghads!

The good thing is that they are so Damn expensive for simple shit. I use them as a "this is how much it cost with them, now look at how much it costs with me" thing.

^^No worries, I still do private I.T. for family friends and their friends and families, usually charge about half the amount Geek Squad does and I still feel like I`m ripping people off sometimes.

The Best Buy I work at is the only walk-in computer repair place within an hours drive in all directions and I`m usually doing private work 3-4 times a week, that plus selling weed is pulling in some serious dough, the changes in the economy haven`t really caught up to me yet. But nowadays the only way to get into Geek Squad(if you want to) is to be a PC salesman(worst job in the store) for 3-4 months and transfer back there. If you are going to college it`s great since they help pay for tuition and have paid for 3 of my certifications, and I`m always milking the employee discount/accommodations for every penny it`s worth, each store is different though since there are usually 4-5 managers controlling how the store runs, some can make a store chill and some make you want to kill yourself.

Well, time for me to go show old people what a printer is :(

^19.25 per hour? that is A LOT compared to similar jobs where I live in Richmond, Canada BC. Makes me feel bad for what I get paid to do part time.

Then again, the high wages might have a lot to do with the supply and demand of people who can troubleshoot computer problems.

We have at least 10 places, all within 15 minutes of driving. Best buy, future shop, and many mom&pop shops.
