^Huh? 3 + (-0) = -3? Surely not. I know I slept through most of my math classes but,
3 + (-3) = 0
3 + (-2) = 1
3 + (-1) = 2
3 + (-0) = 3
3 + (+1) = 4 etc.

3 + (-6) = -3 I think.

If A is anything
A*0 = 0
Therefore,
0/0 = A

Dodgy napkin maths ftw!

There`s a lot of complicated shit going on and this is not saying that you can arbitrarily choose 0/0 to be any value you like. Most of the time when it`s relevant it`s much easier to look at first or second derivatives (if applicable) or give up and try a different method.

Zero is not a number. You cannot divide by a symbol. Zero is a symbol that represents the absence of any quantity (NOT a number).

What I have learned from this thread:
1) 3 +- 0 = -3
2) 3 + (-0) = 3
3) Zero is and is not a number.
4) Where `a` is a variable, a/0 = infinity.
5) Apparently, it`s only computers that have trouble dividing by zero. Nonprogrammers would find it acceptable.

Conclusion: Either somebody tried to divide this thread by zero or public education is failing.
