But I seriously hate planes they scare the crap out of me. I usually have to take a pain pill just to be calm on the flight. Flying at hundreds of miles and hour, 30,000 ft above the ground (or water), in a large metal object just does not sit right with me. And why the hell don`t they give us parachutes, yes it is weight and money but I would rather risk my fate to a parachute than a crash landing...

^ you crash in a car and most of the times are fine. Something happens in a plane and well you have a few minutes of falling to do.

When i fly, i just tell myself, what are the odds, and then i run though scenarios in my head of what i would do, haha most of them include climbing over people to get it haha.

The one thing i hate about planes is when you hit airpockets and the plane like falls a few feet instantly... my balls disappears into my body when that happens

Angel_of_Odin: While I understand folks` fear of flying, it`s ironic to consider that you`re about a thousand times more likely to die when traveling by automobile.

Personally, I love flying. It`s airports that I hate. Turbulence and air pockets simply add the dimension of an amusement park ride...though there was one flight right through a thunderstorm that got a bit wild.

Because you can`t breathe at that height, the plane is moving too fast for you to jump out, and it takes a long time to wear the parachute (you`d have to be wearing the parachute from beginning to end). You would have a better chance at survival staying in and facing the crash landing, then you jumping out and surviving the battering airflow and gasping for air.
