I`m a vegetarian (here come the downvotes) for a bit of all reasons, I.E. moral, taste, health etc. I just don`t see why humans think we have the right to treat animals with no respect in that way.
I don`t have anything against hunter-gatherers or those that catch, kill and eat their food for survival because after all that`s nature. I just don`t see why because we have evolved into the all-conquering, top-of-the-food-chain species, that allows us to cram basically defenceless animals into tiny cages on top of one another as though they were supermarket produce.
What gives us the right? Because we`re smarter? Surely if we`re that smart we can find less barbaric means of finding sustainance.

^^rhys_himself, these asian cultures eat these exotic animals and it makes their culture disgusting...? i am just making a assumption you are american, as i am as well. in my opinion our american cultures rape, kidnap and murder each other day in and day out. should we be considered horrendous? humanity will never move on when we have prejudice, and biased people who bang on other cultures because it`s not the same as theirs.

i have to add though. how people treat animals today any where around the country, its fucked to see how we act like they don`t have feelings. i`m totally against animal cruelty whether it be for food or just the common house pet.

No, I`m English. I`m not prejudice against their culture, hell our English culture is to jump on horses and chase around a scared-shitless fox with a pack of hounds, which is just as bad.
I just think it`s high time humanity as a whole should be more considerate. I agree that rape, murder and the likes are all worse but it`s hardly accepted behaviour in our society now is it? The point is these cultures do it without blinking...we can never deserve the Earth until we respect everything else we share it with.
