But while I realize it`s pretty hip to be anti-police, they`re probably the first people you`re going to call when shit hits the fan. That`s right sparky, guess who comes when you hit 911?

Secondly, police are individuals and people... just like you. They have limitations on their power, and they get in trouble for fucking up. Now, this would be a problem if the police shot the guy and he got off free.

But he`s being investigated, judged, and will be punished. You know, like they do in civilized societies.

Provoked or no provoked, they *were* cooperating and doing nothing wrong and there was no need to draw a gun.

The reason they *had* riots was because the city of Oakland had not yet charged the officer with a crime, look them up on youtube if you would like.

Oh, and tones_420,

They didn`t start a riot right after because the cop showed he had a gun and wasn`t afraid to use it on innocent victims.

hey Sev, my point was merely this. These people started a "riot" on New Years Eve, probably because of booze, drugs, partying etc...the point being for NO REASON AT ALL. Yet when given a DAMN GOOD reason to riot against an unjust act representatives of a fucked up gov`t...they dont. ^There was no rioting on the night of the protests. A gang of punks decided to use the night as an opportunity to smash up store fronts. That`s not a riot, that`s just a vandalism spree.

How many of you had to tell a mother her 16 year old son was killed in a car wreck. the sound they makle will stay with you forever. oh yeah it was a stolen car and he killed newly wed couple. and it was in a chase. the kid ran the couple off the road prior to the chase. if you have done this complain about how bad cops are. there are bad cops but there are cops who do the things NORMAL people wont do. sure you hear of all the mistakes beacuse they are put in situations you cannot handle and they only have two seconds to make a life changing decision. you wear the boots for a week year or a life time either way do not roll them up in all as being the same. beacuse when they roll their counter parts into one they are evil.
