Ron Paul, if he ever made it into office, would be a shooting star of a president: he`d make some revolutionary changes and would be taken out by the real powers that be before anything can change. He would be the best president since JFK.

^d1great1 - he didn`t change because he is a Libertarian who leans conservatively. He would not have stood a chance under that ticket.

As for the best president since JFK... Kennedy wasn`t that great a president. The only reason History remembers him as such is because of his assassination (which had he listened to the secret service wouldn`t have happened). Very few people can really say what JFK did that was so great.

To be fair, They weren`t really the reasons why Bin laden attacked the US on 9/11, there was more to it than that, Bin laden attacked America on 9/11 for his own purposes and goals, not out of revenge- Al qaeda wanted to strike a massive propaganda blow for their cause (which backfired - it appalled much of the Arab world and their cause is still a fanatic fringe) They wanted to weaken the US economically(By hitting the world trade center) and goad them into a war in a muslim country in the the hope of beating them like with the soviet union (but in this case they ended up been driven out of Afghanistan, whereas in Iraq they received mixed results)
Al Qaeda cared about striking a blow against an actual enemy in the heart of his government, military and (what they perceived to be) his economy. They were not out to punish the United States they were out to cripple the United States and make it weaker to contribute to a wider agenda.
Al Qaeda didn`t strike the US on 9/11 because of things like the intervention in Mogadishu, but because the US is a an opponent and an obstable for Al Qaeda in the completion of its own goals- the establishment of a fundamentalist Islamic regime throughout the Arab World and therefore they wanted to weaken American power and influence in that region.

Are you fucking high? Yeah those independents, they do really well in elections...

I like what Ron has to say about the economy and foreign policies, but hes got some serious problems when it comes to social policies. My 2 main problems with him are, one: He doesn`t believe in abortion and would allow states to chose for themselves whether or not to allow it. Two: He doesn`t believe in evolution either. And not in the same way he doesnt believe in abortion. He atleast admits that abortion exist. Someone might come back and say "well, when all the republican candidates were asked to raise their hand if they didn`t believe in evolution he didn`t raise his hand." Well thats true, but afterward he said he hadn`t understood the question and would have raised his hand if he had.
