A London gym has introduced an unusual fitness program that replaces dumbbells with human weights, including midgets.
Richard Hilton, owner of Gymbox at Bank, said the fitness regime isn’t a gimmick but rather the “ultimate embodiment of the visualization theory,” Adelaide Now reports.
The human dumbbells, who shout encouragement to the lifters, wear black leotards with their weights printed across their chests and sit on adapted machines for visualization.
Human weights range from 341-pound “Super Human” Matt Barnard, 37, to 66-pound “Dainty Diva” Arti Shah, 32, a female midget.
Hilton claims creating a mental image of what you want to happen is proven to improve physical and psychological performance.
