Here is a fun idea, 150 years from now, when genetic manipulation has reached its climax, and society has accepted it as a natural way of progression for the human kind, we will be able to fascilitate this behavior and replicate it with human beings, allowing for us to live till the end of our life cycle without ever having to rely on food for survivol. the reason it can do this is because it stole chloroplast. we have mitochondria so we can;t do this. But a neat fact if we did we would be green skinned. the chloroplast is what gives the plants their color

We would also need the cycle where is cycles out electrons and gives off oxygen.
