This was ground breaking stuff ten years ago and rightly goes down in history for these techniques but also spawned a plethora of bad spoofs and rip-offs. The next step is to use two cameras for each shot, one for each eye to produce a stereoscopic picture:

TMAXXPUNISHER, even if the idea was taken somehow from anime, what does that prove? If you did a little research you would find that Bullet-time was actually invented in 1961 by Eadweard Muybridge using still cameras placed along a racetrack to take pictures of a galloping horse. So did an anime production team steal it from him? Really it doesn`t matter, everything is based off of something else in the end.

What the Matrix did with the concept was a visual, and graphic revolution as far as I`m concerned. Whatever had been seen before, whether it be in anime or not, the Matrix took it to a whole new level(And on top of that the movie itself was awesome).

Logos, the movie was also largely inspired by "Ghost in the Shell" the movie. The only thing original about "The Matrix" was the fact that it was live action. Don`t get me wrong though, I enjoyed the movie and the sequels.
