I just got done watching that Michael Moore documentary named Roger & Me, about shutting down the GM factory in Flint, MI and how the guy Roger(chairman of GM) is a douche. Pretty interesting stuff, but im amazed by how beautiful the building are.

I don`t want to get into the politial arguement of why we need to save the big three. I`m obiously from from Detroit, my father and my father`s father worked in the plants in Detroit. My family has been here for generations. However, I must say this, what your looking at is a perfect example of what happens when industry leaves an area. This unfortunatly is a cancer that is speading outside of Detroit and is speading faster everyday. I love my home town and I love my country. We are at the edge as a country. If we don`t turn back and accept working for honest wages, and paying honest prices for good quality American labor, this is what will continue to spread. America, please pay a little more, work a little harder, and we can prevent this from going further.

What I don`t get is why they`d let buildings go to waste. Surely that land could be used by someone. It`s a really big country with lots of people... I mean, it could be apartments or malls, whatever, but just empty decaying buildings? It`s so unreal that no one has bought the buildings or the land since they went out of business.
