Che is the perfect example of how power corrupts.

Interesting to note that he got screwed by the people he helped and wanted to free.

To bad our generation do not know the details of his biography.

Hopefully, this movie will open the minds of this generation.

"Rather than a Christian romantic, Guevara was a ruthless and dogmatic Marxist, who stood not for liberation but for a new tyranny. In the Sierra Maestra, he shot those suspected of treachery; in victory, Mr Castro placed him in charge of the firing squads that executed “counter-revolutionaries”; as minister of industries, Guevara advocated expropriation down to the last farm and shop. His exhortation to guerrilla warfare, irrespective of political circumstance, lured thousands of idealistic Latin Americans to their deaths, helped to create brutal dictatorships and delayed the achievement of democracy."

-The Economist

"It is better to kill one hundred innocents than to let one guilty person go"

-Dolores Ibárruri, Spanish Communist

Sounds a lot like Che no? Ah well, here comes hollywood to butcher history yet again.

Could someone please explain to me why the hell people insist on wearing shirts, caps, or whatevers with Che`s face on them? I truly don`t understand this phenomenon, most people don`t even know who he was or what has he done, and those who do know who he is don`t really know WHO he is or what he stood for... I really don`t understand...

But movie-wise, it`s a solid flick... and if you watch movies expecting historical accuracy then expect to be disappointed no matter what the subject is...

^ Why do people wear Che shirts?

It increases their chance of getting laid by a neo-Marxist college chick by at least 50%. Expect a jump in sales (of condoms & t-shirts) when this comes to theatres.

Vizreel; Symbolically, he`s a man who stood against "American dominance" and died in the process. everyone knows the price Americans (and Canadians too, we benefit from your hegemony) we pay to have a stable existence. To keep our lifestyle going we have to make a lot of people suffer to get their resources and secure our borders etc.

What we forget is that it`s actually our fault and not our governments. If we actually helped developing countries grow to be self sufficient and stable, we`d have to give up a lot of our wealth and life style so that everyone could have a little bit of prosperity. I`m sure everyone has noticed the cost of living has gone up and jobs and wages have gone down. Now notice at the same time, china, Russia, India have increased in wealth, wages and number of jobs....

Do you see the correlation? there is a finite number of resources in the pie, and America has the biggest chunk. When another country gets a bigger piece, other countries` pieces get smaller... If Obama were to go out do all the "right" things and stabilize other governments and economies at the expense of the American economy, his staunches supporters would have a revolution and kick him out ...

Che makes people feel like they stand for the little guy when in fact they`re part of the team that shits all over the little guy (myself included).

In reality, Che was just another amazing, talented and smart guy who got caught up in a whacky political movement and wound up hurting the people he set out to save. Arguably, very similar to Bush in a very different context.

@Chuckus

Yea, I know all that... but explain why Americans wear Che shirts for example... I`m referring to people who have never experienced suppression in their entire life ie young people of 1st world countries, what do they know? It`s like the african american culture, I don`t get why 21st century children still bitch about what happened centuries ago as if they were the ones that suffered. They have to basis for their discomfort, society today picks the tinniest reason to start a "noble" battle against suppression and this is what annoys me. It`s too childish, too ignorant.
