Yes I have seen the review of the STi vs EVO on top gear. All they said is the new STi looks horrid with its hatchback look. I completely agree. However, when the cars were given to the Stig, he had better numbers with the STi than the Evo. They made the switch from sedan to hatchback because of better weight balance on the car which stops the car from rolling over. The problem is customers aren`t trying to win a rally race, they are trying to have a free spirited driving experience on a cool looking manly car. They best selling was the 2005 edition. Coincidentally I have the 2005 Impreza turbo.
Here is the review of 2005 STi vs Evo. They said they prefer the Impreza over the Evo.

The new Evo`s are very ugly too. The MR version doesn`t even come with a proper manual transmission. Way to go Mitsubishi, congrats on making the evo a chick car. Automatic rally cars = gay!
