"the oil companys could create a car that doesnt need oil" damn right they can...dont tell me that man has landed on the moon on a created spaceship and nobody can create a system that makes cars run on water!?! they just dont want to because they`ll lose a lot of money, and that brings me to...oil company`s rules the world.

^ You might as well say that since we`ve sent a man to the moon, we should be able to use cheese to build skyscrapers. That being said, using water as fuel is in no way impossible. Any chemist or physicist with mechanical skills should be able to make a machine that preforms electrolysis and then uses the hydrogen to power an engine.

The problem is however that the power needed to perform electrolysis is more than you get from burning the hydrogen. So what you end up with is basically like using a pump which uses 10 gallons of fuel each day to pump up 9 gallons of fuel each day.

The whole problem really comes down to where you get the power from if you go back as far as you can. Basically if you`re using materials which is found on earth and use more than is created each day, you`re going to hit a wall sooner or later since one day it`s going to run out. Even nuclear power is going to run out one day.

The only thing you can use as a primary source of power is solar power which just comes to us for no cost at all in the form of wind power, bio fuel and of course straight solar power.

The part about a gasoline engine being able to run on hydrogen is a load of crap. The fuel injectors wouldn`t work on a gas, nor would a carburetor. The compression would have to be changed. You would need some kind of additive to slow down the burning of the hydrogen or it would cause a dangerous knocking and blow your engine to pieces.

Why am I not surprised... Of course this shit has been around for a couple of decades. OPEC can`t afford to watch its Black Gold turn to shit if every car in the world doesnt depend on oil. Fuck the god damn oil companies... Fuck!!!!!! I wonder if this world will change if it does I hope I live to see it.

^^There will have to be an adapter inserted into the fuel-injection system, just as you would have to do if you were going to run on propane, hydrogen, or natural gas. And after hydrogen is ignited water is injected into the engine, and expands. kind of like a steam engine.

this video explains it a little bit more:

it got invented a long time ago but the problem is the compagnies who doesn`t want to lose money that`s why they want to by the patterns same thing with electric cars, and by the way TADA... NO ONE EVER WHEN ON THE MOOD because of the Van Allen belts. that`s it that all

Tada "You might as well say that since we`ve sent a man to the moon, we should be able to use cheese to build skyscrapers"

That`s an incredibly stupid comment. Shiftboy was right with what he`d said. Using water as a fuel is very simple compared to building a rocket ship, a lunar landing module and sending a couple men to the moon AND back. Skyscrapers with cheese sounds like a stupid childrens story. A ridiculous analogy.

Anyway, it`s obvious that Oil companies are supressing discoveries like this from surfacing purely for money. I just wish that there was a leader of one of the rich countries or car manufacturer who wasn`t so damn stupid and narrow minded that they`d put this technology into the public consumer market and rid ourselves of our disgusting dependence on oil and possibly gas.

I was born in 1984. It angers me and upsets me immensely to find out that I could`ve been growing up along side an incredibly clean and efficient age of energy and transport. I could cry.

why can`t we just use the power of the battery and charge it with the alternator....

^whats going to spin the alternator? not the battery cuz it takes more energy to spin the alternator than what is produced (perpetual motion theory)

Firstly it`s patents, not patterns.

Secondly, they went on the moon.

They even said in the video that his electrolysis setup consumes 3 times as much energy as it produces in hydrogen. Considering a good combustion engine is only about 30% efficient, that means that only 10% percent of the energy used isn`t wasted.
Electric motors used in cars, are about 90% efficient, so skip all the energy loosing steps, and buy a Tesla roadster, once electric cars start being bought, guess what, big car companies will make them, and compete to make better electric cars than one another.

@Tada, I agree with what you said, but want to clarify usable fission materials will eventually run out(boo-hoo, no one has nukes anymore), but when fusion power has been conquered it can produce more energy than is put in using almost anything for fuel including, ironically, hydrogen. Solar power is nuclear power too, if you think about it, and if that runs out we`re totally boned anyways.

Auto class built a Hydrogen on Demand cell at my school. They blended something like 3% hydrogen with the gas, but after 2 weeks of test driving they found that it actually runs less efficient than gas alone. They suspect they might have been running the fuel mixture "too rich".
