^You`ve actually got that backwards. The boat with the camera was supposed to get the fuck out of the way. If an approaching boat is on your right hand side, you`ve got to yield.

http://www.sailingcourse.com/racing_rules.htm

But it also says you must avoid contact at all costs, in which case if the other boat is not going to yield, you must yield. So granted the "big" boat was at fault, the other guy is also at fault for not compensating for dumbasses at sea.

Additionally if the "big" boat were Not Under Command (NUC) or had Restricted Maneuverablility (RAM) then the other boat needs to get lost, which is why its important to compensate for dumbasses at sea, because maybe that big ass ship wasn`t under control, was towing fishing nets, etc. which all count as restricted control. Also if that big ass ship were currently under man-power than it always has right of way over a motorboat.

In conclusion, compensate for dumbasses and you should be alright. Who would have thought sea rules were so complicated.

One last note - great video nothing funnier than watching dumbasses destroy their expensive shit. 5/5

Zytemis your wrong and ill explain why... NO rule in the book excuses you from avoiding any collision! I`m pretty sure that statement is included in rule #1... Im a licensed captain but its as simple as common sense and is the oldest rule of sea.. "constant bearing + decreasing range = risk of collision"
