Size is not the only problem though. Consider time as well. There might be ruins everywhere but the chances of a sophisticated alien civilization co-existing with us at this specific moment in time needs to be figured in.

Ruins would juuust fine with me though. Lots to study, nothing to fight. That`s just about what we can handle I think.

yea, they didnt seem to get much right in this documentary. i mean, its very interesting and it is hard to think we are alone, but ive seen other documentaries that state that the chance of "just" us existing, is like saying, i tornado went through a junk yard and made a fighter jet on accident. realistically, that chance is basically 0. to say that that happened twice, is not very likely, yet they say, that the chances of us not being alone are very good. so which one is it now? fighter jet or no?

I`m positive that there is some sort of life out there. Intelligent life is slightly less likely, but considering how many stars and planets are out there I think the odds are still pretty good. I mean, we`ve been here for an infinitesimally small amount of time, and only recently became advanced enough to emit radio waves. All that we know about intelligent life is what we know about ourselves, which isn`t saying much. For all we know, most civilizations may not get further than point `A`, a point we`ve yet to reach or amazingly have managed to surpass.

I`d theorize that an intelligent alien species would be social because cooperation is necessary to do advanced things. Collective brainpower built everything around us. Social creatures result in groups, groups result in between group aggression, which results in fighting/war. So I`d suspect they`d be somewhat similar to us which may or may not be a good thing.

QUESTIONS & COMMENTS:

1. Seriously, does the Paul Allen project run on any microsoft software notably Vista or XP security that drains the power of ones computer and virus infiltration?

2. 300 Billion suns in our galaxy they estimate. Even if they are wrong. That boggles the mind as their could be more hiding in syncronization. Not saying that = ETs. Wow! And there are other galaxies. Think of the energy required. God made them all... Wow!

3. Okay if S.E.T.I. finds a message that translates "Help Us" then what?

4. Sirius, the brightest and nearest Sun is said to be 8.6 light years away but they say is only 250 million years old. Their logic doesn`t make sense when they say our sun is 4.57 billion years old. Marble Gas theory blows this away. So does other evidence. Also one source says the Moon is 300,000 years old but all say much younger. God holds the answer.

5. Why do all or most astronomers say the Moon is younger?

6. If there are E.T.s they need a faster than light space ship. What would happen if during an accident or drunken alien smashes into the Earth at that speed?

7. Strange how those who say about "God does not exist" but don`t think matters through. How long has the ENERGY of the UNIVERSE been around? If you say FOREVER then that is GOD.

8. In science class they taught me all the UNIVERSE was created by a primordial atom AT A TOTAL STAND STILL. False: where is then the catalyst?

I say this on my dying days. I get mini brain strokes(Thrombosis) of November 26th, 2008 much of time. I`m only 42 years old. All my doctors said I was fine since I was 31.5 years old. I don`t want to die at 42. *weeping* *sad* My diet for the last 2.75 years does NOT help. The only factors are Lack of EXERCISE and INDUSTRIAL SUGAR. NATURAL SUGAR IS OKAY. The sugar in beer is okay, wine sugar is okay as it`s prozaicly roselette sugar(There are 50 sugars in alchol or in existance.

My diet didn`t work. I`m dying 35 minutes jogging does better than diet but diet helps.

Maybe I`ll be okay. I`m going to ask for surgery soon. Don`t worry about me. Just EXERCISE and get off that INDUSTRIAL SUGAR.

The best religion I found is CHRISTADELPHIAN. Although God has taught me a higher way.

EXERCISE! Start slow. But 45 minutes CARDIO JOGGING(140 heart beats depends on age) EVERY DAY to live longer even if you HATE me.

DIET does not prevent too much stroke or cadio heart attack. But only synergizers with EXERCISE. DIET does not much unless you EXERCISE 45 minutes a day.

I think anyone contemplating IF there is a CHANCE that other intelligent life forms exist in the universe is highly unaware and blissfully egocentric! Saying the world is flat is far more reasonable, for that time, than now denying extra-terrestrial life.

As stated (vaguely, but it gets the point accross) in the clip, there are 100,000,000,000 stars like our sun in our galaxy -pause- there are 100,000,000,000 galaxies out there. How could anyone possibly think that our planet is the only one that had the right conditions to create sustainable life or think that our timescale means anything in that broad spectrum???
