The biggest shot I`ve ever seen was 9,000 pounds of ANFO for diamond consolidation. But even that shock wave punches you in the chest, and watching explosives just isn`t the same without that feeling.
Once or twice a year we let the public (usually mostly students) come and watch a diamond shot, and if you ever get a chance like that from somewhere local, take it.

I`ve done this myself in iraq a few times.. We`d take all the uxo we found in bunkers (mostly 155mm mortar rounds) out to the desert in hemtts (hemett) and slap on a few thousand blocks of c4 and drive out far enough so we didn`t explode too.

fun stuff!

I was soo buff after lifting all those rounds constantly for like 3-4 months.
