While I understand the humor the artist was trying to convey, the country was, in fact, founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. To explain, I would need more space than is available here, however, I trust that all of you are capable of doing the research for yourself.

Having said that, religion should have NO place in determining the course of any American policies.

^the country was founded on freedom of religious prosecution, actually. the separation of church and state was wholly apparent.

TookyG: No one is denying the fact that the founding fathers where Christians. But you can just look at european despots to see that the church supported the leader so that they could gain power and the despot supported the church because it gave him power. This is what the founding fathers wanted to avoid.

^ & @Tada: Any historian would say that the "founding father" were not christian, if not to homogenize the founding fathers but to point out that many of them were deists, which is the modern equivalent to an agnostic, and many were different kinds of Christians, but almost all of them were against a relationship between the church and the state.

@Tada, they opposed ORGANIZED religion controling the goverement but they wanted Christianity to be the fabric of the society. In fact it was Jefferson who establshed the SENATE Chambers as one of MANY state buildings to be used as Chapels. Wouldn`t that violate SOCAS (sep. of chch & ste)?
Not enough room or time here to go into detail.
www.wallbuilders.com has lots of good resources on the issue.
