^ I thought it must be a B movie when I first heard about it but then found this and learned that the cast includes: John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, Danny Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Oliver Platt. Lets not forget the I Ching, and The Web Bot Project also cease to make predictions past 2012. Only time will tell.

Oh, fucking wonderful...now Hollywood is going to legitimize this utter bullshit. Even if it turns out to be a decent disaster flick, millions of people are going to treat it as gospel truth...just like they did with The Day After Tomorrow (which had great special effects, a stupid plot, and completely junked out science).

Anybody who believes 2012 is the end of the world...just kill youself now. You are too goddamn stupid to exist!!!

In 2012 December the Maya calendar re-starts. According to Mayans the lengend is that the Earth undergoes a new birth - a restoration. In which all of man kind gets saved or the good ones. Perhaps via a Messiah.

Unfortunately some ignorant people misinterpreted what the Mayans believed and therefore declared planetary allignments destroy the Earth in tidal floods. Which is totally false.

And the next major solar system planetary alignments are in about the year 2049 I think not 2012. But even that will not destroy the earth as this has happened beforehand.

Still I`m not sure there is any redemptive value in this film context.

Me I think of the year 2017 - the 50th year of Jubilee when all land returns to the original owning family and Zechariah 14v1-21.
