Wait... so it`s a BAD thing that we`re moving back to paper ballots if the machines break?

Arguably, the she-monster`s argument was very weak: comparing voter lines to shopping lines. But that doesn`t change the fact that we NEED paper-ballot backups if those machines turn out to be faulty... I`d rather wait in line for 2 hours than not have my vote count at all.

Having paper ballots will reduce lines when machines break down, as well as giving people who don`t trust the machines an option. In some areas officials have said that they won`t supply paper ballots unless every single voting machine breaks down.

Democracy Now have over the last couple of weeks has devoted a lot of coverage to problems with machines and the importance of paper ballots.

The officials in this video don`t want to go out of their way to make things easier for people, but the court order mentioned at the end compels them to supply paper ballots. This clip doesn`t really go into that, mainly posted it to show the total disregard these people have for voters.

It`s call the "right" to vote. It`s the fucking responsibility of the government to provide that.

Lines or waiting for anything else is your choice and you pick if you want to wait there or not and you get to pick the date.

The government has no right to force people to wait for a right instilled to them by the constitution.

^^ Most people are perfectly willing to wait in line for 15-30 minutes, but a country like America should be able to get it together so that no one has to be waiting 8-10 hours just to take part in the democratic process. Also the longest lines tend to be in areas where people predominantly vote Democrats, and in predominantly black areas.
