I hate to say it... but the only way Americans will rise up is if more people lose their homes, lose their jobs, and the administration is caught using these tactics on a mass scale. We know that they`re doing it, but without any solid evidence to back us up, citizens will continue to be the Administration`s pinata.

I was asked a couple days ago by a McCain supporter: "Why do you care? You`re Canadian!?"

I care because as a very popular Prime Minister in the 1980s said "Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt." America is Canada`s largest trading partner, and vice versa. You get the most oil, most lumber, most energy, and water in terms of imports from us. The shit that has happened in the past 8 years dwarfs all other confrontations our two nations have seen. Do we really want another 4?

As Stewart, Colbert (in his own way), Bill Maher and Conan have said - they would love a challenge. Having a competent leader and vice-president would be a huge change for them. HOPEFULLY, after Obama and co. and in the white house this coming year, congress and the senate will get a run for their money. It`s up to the individual citizen to make things right.

i`m sorry, it`ll be too late for america to turn things around. simple as that. i`m not even saying obama`s the answer to your problems, but at least obama brings some hope with him. he is definitely the more competent of the two candidates.

from someone watching your politics from another country, i don`t even see why this is even being called a presidential `race` any more. half you americans actually want mccain in office? seriously? half you americans believe mccain would be a stronger and more in-tune president than obama? the rest of us in the international community would be rolling in the aisles right now if the stakes weren`t so high.

you pick mccain/palin and we will lose all faith in americans as a whole.

rafey, theres credible reason to believe that obama might not even be eligible to be president of this country, and were told thats not important...

if he does get elected, and it comes out later that he became president under false pretenses, what then?

he has just made a mockery of our entire system.

dont get me wrong, im in no way a mccain supporter, butthe possibility that someone could become president by circumventing our constitution, and no one cares? thats unfathomable.

the sooner everyone realizes that ALL politicians are snake oil salesmen, that people, even your beloved obama, will bullshit you to get what they want, the better.

ALWAYS assume the government or any "official" is lying to you, criticize what they say, dont be afraid to tell them to prove it. just stick this in your head, if you work for the government, youre guilty until proven innocent.

I have been ragging on America for several years on Spiked Humor and I always get voted down. I will say it again.

There are only a few possible out comes.

1. Collectively all of us should do, but not mail in, our 2008 and future taxes. Show that you did them, pay to have them done, but collectively refuse to turn in and pay or receive money back for you taxes. They can`t jail us all.

2. Other options are more violent in regards to protests against government establishments. Me just mentioning this would probably get me in jail, so I won`t be specific. However the government is smart. They give us enough to be passive. However, people are losing their homes and now their jobs. When, and hopefully soon, will the violence, looting, assassination (attempts and otherwise) and bombings begin by "ordinary" people.

3. Having debates and stupid shows like John Stewart won`t get shit done anymore folks.

4. Refuse to vote as neither candidate is capable of handling the job.


* No one, NOT ONE AMERICAN, is willing to give up what they have now for the possibility of losing everything they have now. That includes me, you and everyone else.

for years now the government thinks we work for them .. something needs to be done .. they have all the ppl fearing what the government will do to them .. it should be the other way around .. the government should be the fearful ones. the government must answer to us .. until this fear is in the right hands .. more tyranny we shall have.
