Can anyone say gentrification? This is happening all over the United States as well as certain places here in Canada like Toronto. Its just happening very quickly in New Orleans because of the hurricane. New York is another extreme example. By eliminating the low income housing you ensure only a certain demographic can afford to live in that area.

Comparing the 9th Ward to low-income housing in almost any other city is a logical fallacy. Ironically, the poor people in Los Angeles can`t afford to live in the hills that are prone to fires and mudslides. The rich people are the stupid ones there...though most them have their own insurance.

Under Part One, I suggested government assistance to move everyone out of the 9th Ward, mostly because it`s our screwed up gub`mint that allowed that area to be developed in the first place. When the Mississippi flooded in 1993, the government paid to move entire towns. Anyone (excepting farmers) who chose to stay in the flood plain was told that they were on their own in the future.

It`s kinda like Africa, why keep sending them food? They live in a desert, send them u-hauls to move somewhere where they can take care of themselves. Maybe dark skinned people are incapable of taking care of themselves all together. Hell, most of them are always looking for someone else to take care of them. Even their kids they can`t take care of. How many grandmothers take care of their daughters kids becuase they are incapable of it or just plain don`t want too?

most lemmings fail to realise that the rich have been at war with us since 2001. It was them that attacked us, not "muslims". its no different in the UK

Right out side my window, RIGHT NOW, they are building 150,000 "vilas", i live in what would be considered a "low income" area. they tore down 4 blocks of flats less than half a mile from me, (easily 1 thousand homes per flat) and they build what 30 "vilas" in their place, vilas that nobody in this area can afford, the highstreet which is less than a mile from me, they are forcing out all the stores, (i know i a guy who rates went up 300% in six months, he had to close his store) then they put trend clothes stores in their place (you know the type of stores where you cant tell the difference between guys and womans clothing?).

(in the UK its a little easier, as we have about 100,000 imigrants coming to this country daily, what they do is, move them into a house`s (there 3 familys living in this building just now) and they move us the UK citizens out of them. then they deport the imigrants, job done, house`s are now empty!! (the law does not allow anybody even if they own the building to throw people out so they have to use this method to get us out of the house`s)

and then you find that the very house im living in now is due for demolition in less than 5 years , these building where only built brand new less than 8 years ago, and the same is happening all over glasgow, forcing the poor people further out of the city, and its not like in america where you have suburbs and little towns, nah, you have the city then fields until the next one pretty much. The rich are taking everything, despite the fact they already have everything else. and the only people that will stop them is US, problem with that it we`re all too ignorant to even know what is going on for the most part and the rest of us are to selfish to give a shit!!

Who needs peace and harmony when you have unchallenged greed and all the lemmings a corporation could ask for!

I was there before the floods. The only difference that I can see is that there were no large piles trash before, and there were thugs on every corner. This was a place that the police recommended that you stay out of, even in the day time. New Orleans had been the murder capital of North America at the time. The French Quarter was the only safe place to go, period. My heart goes out to the people who died and lost their homes, but as far as them getting back on their feet, I`d say that they were never on their feet to begin with.

The situation is fucked up. Last time I checked New Orleans was in the United Motherfucking States of America. This is how Americans treat each other? Fuck that shit!
