But as a lawyer, he should know as any cop will tell you; if you are going to use your gun to defend yourself, make sure you finish the job. Two in the chest and one in the head.

Otherwise, America`s messed up legal system will have Shatner paying the guy`s legal and medical bill, plus a tidy little sum, and maybe even putting Shatner in prison. Shooting to maim is seen a inhumane, even when the criminal is pointing a gun at you.

It`s a messed up world we live in.
