Pompeii - The Last Day 1/5 BBC

Part 2/Part 3/Part 4/Part 5
Pompeii: The Last Day is a 2003 dramatized documentary that tells of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on 24th August 79 AD. This eruption covered the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in ash and pumice, killing all those trapped between the volcano and the sea. The documentary accurately portrayed the different phases of the eruption although the digitally created images of the city itself are not entirely accurate. It was directed by Peter Nicholson and written by Edward Canfor-Dumas. It was a BBC/TVE co-production.

Coincidentally i was reading an article on wiki, Pompeii was the home of pornography back in the roman times. Some religious nuts discovered the ruins and decided to hide the "obscenity" of their art.

I think you misunderstood the article Luisin. It wasn`t the heart of some ancient smut industry, but quite a bit of "obscene" murals and other artifacts have been found there. They`re actually kept in a special, separate room in a museum in Rome. Probably the most famous one depicts Priapus:

It`s stupid to classify archaeology as "porn". Even if it was then, it`s funny to consider it obscene still. I`m not offended by it.

Right. The only thing special about Pompeii is that it was preserved relatively intact.

It was actually just your average run of the mill Roman town.
