Judging by the announcer it was a regatta(Competition) They have people out in boats to make sure people stay in their lane and to start the race. Most likely it was probably their first competition and not that good. Once had a race where 2 boats collided and we got an easy victory.

ugh i was coxswain (the guy facing forwards) for a while, it`s incredibly stressful. i feel bad for the guy, you`re literally driving 8 independent wheels and 40k+ of equipment with no turning radius and a blind spot right in front of you. it`s a very lonely feeling when you mess it up for the entire team haha.

I don`t really think a coach is needed for a single repetitive motion in a straight line anyway. They can figure out pacing and technique on their own in the first month.
