yeah i see why godzilla fans wouldn`t like the 98 movie, like how original transformers fans might not like the recent transformers movie. i didn`t know about the subsequent japanese releases referring to the american one though, that was interesting

Zilla 98 had Harry Shearer and Hank Azaria from The Simpsons so that it my books gives the movie a bunch more points. So in my opinion the movies is a 2 out of 10

It had nothing to do with being unfaithful to the original godzilla, it was just a fucking shit film. A overly sentimental yawn with one-dimensional characters and a piss-weak story that had fuck-all to do with Godzilla, figuratively or otherwise.

I can`t believe his main criticism was that Godzilla didn`t breath fire. FFS it`s a piece of shit! When someone gets a hundred million dollars to make a film, they should NOT give us a piece of shit like that.

i personally think that yea, this movie sucked, and it really sucks because godzilla is a great character but prolly wont be put into american films for a long ass time because of this

I Agree with the critic, that movie was shit.
It contained what was probably the worst line ever written into a movie and at the time I thought Matthew Broderick was a total douche bag for delivering it.

I found the line; "Nick" was talking to his old Girlfriend, defending his having become a corporate whore, and he ACTUALLY says:
When you and I use to attend rallies back in college, we helped to create awarenes,and that was important. But now from the inside, I can actually effect REAL change.

TheFoX! is right, inthe comic book spidey is a science student who develops web shooters that attach to his wrists, they probably changed that in the movie coz it would look stupid for him to be making something like that and it was easy enough to say that it was just one of his abilities, which i think would make more sense.
