A Florida strip club was flashing needles instead of skin this past week when it offered free flu shots to elderly residents.
Rachel's in Casselberry paid for hundreds of flu shots to be given to area seniors who might not have been able to afford one, club owner Jim Veigle told the Orlando Sentinel.
Veigle said he provides the shots for free every year for seniors on fixed incomes because "people need the help."
Those coming into the adult entertainment establishment to receive shots from medical professionals were not just retired truck drivers, but also great-grandmothers and a bus-load of parishioners from a nearby Catholic Church.
Most were cautious about going into the dimly lighted club, but soon got over their apprehensions when they also were offered a free pot roast lunch.
One 93-year-old woman said she was curious about the club anyway because she always wanted to see a "pole dance."
Dancing poles, free lunch, free flu shots, how could anyone resist? Jello shots, however, were extra.
