Csmack, working non-commercial on small jobs (usually around $500 or less) doesn`t require a liscense, but anything bigger than a clogged sink or ball-cock replacement and you need a P2 license and many smaller jobs require lesser degrees of a plumbing license that a handy man can`t even touch, legally. if he did intend to be a contractor he would then need a P1 or know somebody who can co-sign who has one, to pull permits.

As for the license issue, "Joe the Plumber" said he`s not required to have one since he is not a commercial plumber. Instead, he works for someone`s company doing residential plumbing. Also, did he specify he wanted to but his boss` company?

I thought he simply said "a" company. And he never claimed that he was currently making a salary of $250,000 so it`s no surprise that he currently is making 40,000 b/c he never claimed the contrary.

For once I`d like to see Olbermann have someone on his show that seriously challenged his views rather than interviewing people who already agree with him. Doesn`t take much skill to simply read off a teleprompter like he does.
