the insurgents son was killed in an american bombing of iraq, and he took the last thing of his sons (that milky way bar) and kept it on him the entire time he went to war with the us. thats why it was so old. he wasnt going to eat it.

I can understand searching the body for explosives or other traps, but isn`t there UN regulated laws about theft from dead bodies or even taking "death tokens" like the prayer beads or even milky way bars.

This is extremely disrespectful to the deceased. I understand that yes, the insurgent was probably trying to kill the american soldiers. But he is now dead, and everyone deserves to be respected in death.
